In the monthly catalog in which 99% of all comics are solicited through, Previews, there are sections for each of the major publishers. Then there is the independents section where all other publishers are put in alphabetical order.

Historically, the publishers whose names are earlier in the alphabet sell better due to being earlier in the catalog. This has led to publishers being very cheesy about naming themselves to move to the front of the line, most notably Markosia changing its name to AAA Markosia.
