And the Best Picture of the year:… Million Dollar Baby.

But okay Million Dollar Baby is the big story, but Aviator has its mark as the not quite as big story.
Yep, multiple acceptance speeches always end up getting the later speakers screwed for time.
Only 15 minutes over schedule. Not much filler. They should allow for a longer show and let there be a proper presentation and LONGER acceptance speeches.
The show did a good job of focusing on the awards, in spite of my bitching. They had all the traditional parts of the broadcast in there and absolutely nothing else added. Which seems a bit of a loss, as there was not much special added. Which of course makes what was cut that much more missed. At least they didn’t reduce some awards to merely being represented by a ticker at the bottom of the screen like some awards shows have been.
The show did leave me with one very big thought….
There’s a lot of good films out there that I really have to see.
